A mental snack
As you read this, take a moment to press pause on life, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Maybe even two.
That is the best kind of snack you could give your mind; a mental snack. A moment to stop, reconnect and gather your monkey-like attention back. I often catch myself on a whirlwind of frenetic activity; pretty much every day, actually. And every day, every time I find myself in this frenzy, I gently try to remind myself that life is not about always doing, always producing, always maxing out.
Gently is the hardest part, for me at least. I’m a life-squeezer, a 24-hours-is-not-enough kind of person! However… Life is not always a lemon to be squeezed, and 24 is enough. Of course, theory is great, practice is a whole other story.
I hope wherever you are, you can give yourself a mental snack, a delicious breath-long break, a well-savoured moment of pause.
BANANA, OATS & CHOCOLATE ENERGY BARS
These banana oats chocolate bars are one of the easiest, simplest and most nutritious snacks I’ve made. I remember having oats, ripe bananas and peanut butter at home, and wondering what kind of delicious way I could combine them in to form a decent snack. I did some googling here and there, and I found this very simple recipe using those 3 ingredients. And then I decided to add in some chocolate, becase why not!
